Seattle Mortgage Company was the first independent mortgage banker based in Washington to offer reverse mortgages. Our commitment to excellence and customer service earned us a national reputation in the reverse mortgage business, enabling us to become the country's third largest reverse mortgage loan originator.

Recognizing the potential of the reverse mortgage business and Seattle Mortgages strong position in the industry, Bank of America acquired the majority of the company's reverse operations in June 2007. We retained a small reverse mortgage presence since that time, and we are now returning to that line of business in full force.

Seattle Mortgage Company is an affiliate of Seattle Bank, a community bank with operations in banking, mortgage and escrow. The organization was first established in 1944 as Seattle Mortgage Company, which today is one of the oldest independent mortgage banking firms in the Northwest, with reverse mortgage representatives located throughout Washington state.
